Meet Our Team
Dr. Ben Gullo – Dentist

Dr. Ben grew up in Perry, New York, a small village in Western New York where relatives still reside. He attended St. Bonaventure University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. From there he enrolled in The State University of New York at Buffalo receiving his Masters degree in Biology and later his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. After his formal education, Ben served two years in the US Navy as a dentist. Continuing education includes The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, Key Biscayne, FL; The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry; also extensive courses in complex restorative, complex esthetic, endodontic and implant dentistry to name a few. Dr Ben came to Canandaigua and started in this very office in 1973. 



Dr. Greg Gullo – Dentist

Dr. Greg grew up here in Canandaigua and graduated from Canandaigua Academy in 1989. After graduating, he spent one year in Belgium as an exchange student in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. After his year in Belgium, Greg began school at the University of Rochester where he majored in Political Science and Premedical Studies. After three years at the University of Rochester he was admitted early into the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1998 and then spent one year at Genesee Hospital as a resident in the general practice residency program. In 1999 he joined his father’s practice here in Canandaigua and he has been here ever since. 



Dr. Navjot Alag – Dentist

Dr. Navjot was born and raised in Punjab, India. After finishing her BDS degree in India she moved to the United States where she obtained her DDS degree from New York University in 2014. After successfully completing licensing exams (NERB and NDEB) she is fully licensed to practice in the U.S. and Canada. To further her clinical training and gain valuable experience she completed her GPR from Rochester General Hospital in 2015. Dr. Navjot's training includes hospital dentistry, handling infections and special needs patients. She finds passion in serving those with special needs. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She loves working with children, as well as adults. She is committed to providing high quality individualized care and developing lasting trustful relationships with her patients and families.    



Dental Hygienists


Barb has over 40 years in the dental profession and currently enjoys being semi-retired. She is the proud mother of two daughters. Aside from dentistry, she enjoys daily walks with her husband, John, and dogs Molly and Sophie, gardening and cooking. Barb has volunteered as an ombudsman advocating for the elderly in the community and enjoys providing meals for Light Hill Comfort Care Home.


Martha’s passion for dentistry started as a child working for her dad in his dental practice in Canandaigua. She has been a hygienist at Gullo Dental for 20 plus years. She and her husband have four children and several grandchildren. They reside in a log home they built in 2010. Martha volunteers at Supply a Smile Dental Program, Free Smile Day, Special Olympics, and is a National Ski Patroller.


Else Graduated from Monroe Community College in 1988. Originally from the Netherlands, she came to study in the United States as a Branch Scholarship Fund recipient. In addition to her dental hygiene degree, she holds a degree from the University of Amsterdam in Urban Planning and Demographics. She and her husband, Fred, have three grown children. Else enjoys skiing, windsurfing and flossing. 


Renee is originally from the Buffalo area and studied hygiene at Monroe Community College. She has called Canandaigua home for the last 33 years. She has a daughter and is an animal lover, rescuing many pets from ferrets to dogs. Renee enjoys riding her motorcycle and working in her yard landscaping. She truly loves winter; nothing makes her happier than a good snowstorm.


Lynn is the newest member of our hygiene department. She is a graduate of mcc with over twelve years of dental experience. Lynn is also certified to administer local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort if needed. In her spare time, Lynn enjoys working in her garden, bake and refurbish old furniture.

Dental Assistants

Josie joined Gullo Dental in October 2018. She has had 42 years of experience as a dental assistant, assisting in Buffalo, Rochester and the Geneva area. She enjoys flower gardening and playing with her kitten, Black Jack.


Havilah came to the office as a dental assistant in 2013. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and knitting. She enjoys remodeling her home and is adept with a hammer.

Rhonda Kay

Rhonda joined our practice in 2018. She has many years of dental experience and truly enjoys helping make the patient has comfortable as she can. Rhonda enjoys visiting her three beautiful daughters in both Florida and Michigan where they reside. Rhonda has a passion for anti-school bullying. She has spoken for over fourteen years alongside her daughter Gabrielle, in schools across America on this topic. They have published two books on this topic. In her spare time, she paints in watercolor. Loves to garden and grows her own herbs, tomatoes, and other vegetables. She loves to cook one of her favorite food Lebanese! Rhonda enjoys life! You can always find a smile on her face.

Office Administrators

Jill brings her contagious laugh to the Gullo practice for over 21 years. Always ready with a smile and encouraging word, she makes you feel comfortable even while having a root canal. Jill and her family enjoy camping and traveling to the Thousand Islands.


Kim has worked in the dental field since 1977. She joined our team as a dental assistant in 1990 and has since “worn many hats” in the office. You may find her at her primary position at the Front Desk or assisting one of the doctors. Kim brings a touch of levity to the office as she has quite a sense of humor and enjoys making people laugh. Kim is married with three children. She and her husband Perry enjoy vintage cars and football. Kim also enjoys working in her flower garden and always has a remodeling project underway at home. The Adams’ also enjoy vacationing with friends.


Sandy has been with the office for over 28 years. She has an exceptional memory for names and faces and is a valuable asset to the practice. Sandy and husband Phil enjoy traveling with friends. She is greeted every night by the boundless energy of her two black labs Brody and Brady. Sandy and Jordan are avid New England Patriots fans while Phil steadfastly supports the Buffalo Bills.

Supply a Smile is a local organization associated with Canandaigua Churches in Action (CCIA), serving uninsured residents of Ontario County with free dental services for adults age 18  and older, and is limited to cleanings, fillings, and extractions. Services are provided by area dental offices.

Patient Information

Your First Visit

As a patient of Gullo Dental, you should expect to be warmly welcomed and courteously treated as soon as you walk through our doors. We have coffee and tea waiting in our comfortable waiting area for you to enjoy.

When you arrive for your first visit, we’ll have some forms for you to fill out, our goal is to build a great patient/staff relationship. Please bring the following items along with you to make things easy on yourself.

  • Insurance information

  • A list of any medications you are taking

  • Current x-rays from a previous dentist (a signed release form will be needed)

At Gullo Dental, we strive to make the highest quality of dental care available to everyone. We will work with your insurance company by submitting and filing necessary forms. We want you to recieve the maximum benefit possible. If you are without insurance and are unsure of how you’ll pay for dental services, come see us anyway. We provide flexible payment plans through Care Credit, which is a private company, that enables you to spread payments out for months and in most cases without interest.


Digital Radiography

With digital radiography clear, detailed images appear instantly on our monitors. This technology allows us to quickly diagnose, treat and minimize exposure to radiation. Having your x-rays in a digital form also facilitates seamless communication with dental specialists.

Operating Microscopes

Dr. Ben and Greg Gullo are among the few general dentists in the western New York using operating microscopes. We believe that if you can see it better, you can treat it better. Operating microscopes enable us to view difficult-to-see regions in great detail. Which allows us to perform delicate and complex procedures with confidence and precision.
